The Late Dr. Ameyo Stella Adadevoh who died of Ebola on August 19, 2014 after ensuring the confinement of infected Liberian-American, Patrick Sawyer who was the index (first) case of the Ebola Virus Disease in the country Nigeria, has been honoured with an award from the Rotary Club of Abuja-Metro, Rotary International District 9125 in recognition of her bravery. Though she is dead but the legacy she left behind after her brave fight against Ebola in Nigeria still speaks.
According to the Guardian reports, the award was announced on Thursday, October 2 by the newly elected President of the group, Rotn Dr. Biodun Olusesi who said that the late doctor had made a huge sacrifice in defence of Nigeria,
"It is not unusual to award a posthumous award when it is well deserved in the case of Adadevoh. She is a physician to the core and she wasn't ready to bend, and that saved the large number of people from contracting Ebola.” - Rotn Dr. Biodun Olusesi.
